Melody Meyer
Melody Meyer is president of Chevron Energy Technology Co. (ETC), headquartered in Houston, Texas. In this capacity, she is responsible for managing the company’s technology resources to meet its global portfolio needs across all business segments, including exploration and production and marketing and refining. ETC has major technology centers in Richmond and San Ramon, Calif., Houston, Texas, and two new global centers located in Perth, Australia, and Aberdeen, Scotland.
Ms. Meyer graduated from Trinity University in 1979 with a BS Engineering Science-Mechanical, and joined Gulf Oil Corporation in Houston, Texas, which later merged with Chevron Corporation in 1985. Ms. Meyer spent nineteen years of her career working on international projects and in operational assignments in Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc, 8 years in North America Exploration and Production, and after that in Chevron Energy Technology.
This talk will focus on the technology challenges the industry faces as offshore and deepwater operations move beyond the limits of conventional technologies including drilling, production, enhanced recovery and environmental sustainability.
