14:00 - 14:30 Marlim project
Mauro Euphemio
The Marlim SSAO 3-Phase Subsea Separation System is the worlds first system for deepwater separation of heavy oil and water which re-injects water in the same producer reservoir. The main requirements for reinjection on the producer reservoir is the water strict requirements for maximum solid particles (sand) and residual oil content. This challenge application poses innumerous challenges to the project and the solutions developed give a worldwide pioneering characteristic to this system. This paper provides an introduction to the MRL SSAO system. One will find here an overview of the project motivations, main premises and objectives. It gives a project overview of the topside facilities, and of the the subsea production system, - subsea layout and its description. It includes an overview subsea separator project which includes a brief discussion on the architecture selected for the subsea separation station and on the installation concept.
