Track 2 @ Peer Gynt Field Development
14:30 - 15:00 Increased Recovery factors - The new dimension within Subsea Field Developments
Jon Arve Sværen
In June 2011 Schlumberger acquired the remaining shares of Framo Engineering from Frank Mohn of Norway, with a target to strengthen the Company’s strategic position within subsea technologies for enhanced production. With Schlumberger’s expertise within well management, downhole pumping, surveillance and flow assurance and Framo’s wellknown subsea pumping systems, there is a clear potential for a totally new dimension in future field developments. To ensure maximum recovery from the reservoir, Schlumberger and Framo have developed a Dynamic Reservoir Production System introducing a combination of downhole ESPs and seabed pumps. Both technologies are field proven, but little or no experience is based on combining the two to make optimum advantage of the synergies available. The new subsea Segment within Schlumberger can offer the market pump solutions for any subsea application including deepwater, subsea separation systems combined with wide knowledge of issues related to flow assurance and reservoir engineering. This presentation will give an overview of the combined "muscle” which this new segment of Schlumberger introduces and the technologies involved.
