UTC2021, 16 - 17 June - Digital Edition - Sharing technical innovations, from 3D printing to the eVXT
UTC’s technical sessions are about how we can move the needle, both in the future and today. We do that best by sharing both project learnings and the latest innovations that will help us get the most out of future fields, from additive manufacturing to next generation risers and the latest on all-electric subsea trees.
And that’s just what we have in store with UTC 2021’s technical resource utilisation and innovation sessions. We have some great green and brownfield development technology case studies for you and a wide range of innovations to take away and consider for your next project. With an increase in subsea tieback developments expected in the near-mid-term future on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and elsewhere, there’s no better time than now.
We’ll hear technical presentations from operators Equinor and Lundin, as well as OneSubsea, Aker Solutions, TechnipFMC, NOV and DNV. We’ll hear how subsea multiphase boosting has helped increase production at the Vigdis field and we’ll delve into how Equinor has used new technical solutions and ways of working to reduce the break-even cost on its Halten Øst marginal field subsea tieback project from circa US$50/boe to $24/boe. We’ll also hear why Wintershall is considering dual pipe separator (DPS) technology for seabed separation on its Nova Phase 2 project – and what benefits it will bring.
But we’ll also look at other new boosting solutions, including a newly qualified, 6MW, 6000 RPM multiphase pump that could open up fields that are currently beyond existing solutions, such as long step outs and deepwater reserves.
If that’s not enough, our resource utilisation and innovation technical sessions will also look at direct electrical heating of flexible pipes, how we can now start to use additively manufactured metallic parts in subsea developments, the latest developments in rigid and composite risers and how those developments could influence future designs and a new unique hydro-pneumatic energy storage solution using subsea bundles.
Last, but by no means least, our innovation session will provide an update on an industry project to develop and qualify an electric vertical Xmas tree. The goal, for Equinor and its partners, is an all-electric subsea (AES) control system portfolio for a standardized water depth independent vertical Xmas tree system. It’s a key piece in the “Subsea Factory” jigsaw. It’s not to be missed.
