Equinor has a very proud technology history, and we have been frontrunners within many areas, especially within subsea, to develop the portfolio that we have today.
We think it’s very important to build on this technology legacy moving forward, to meet the energy transition and the digital transformation that we’re facing.
Some examples of these technologies are subsea compression, DCFO power cable and subsea docking station for underwater intervention drone.
2023 will be the year when we deploy the first autonomous subsea drones on our assets. Testing will start at Njord with Saipem’s Hydrone-R drone and then we will continue at Johan Sverdrup with testing the Modus Saab Sabertooth drone.
We have allowed ourselves to envision how we think the future can be when implementing the robotics and drones in Equinor. Take a look at the interview below.
Stine Vatneberg, heading up technology deliveries within automation and robotics space, within Equinor.
