In a rapidly changing world, we need the people who are at the very top to help guide how we steer a course for our companies and the societies we live in. This is why we are pleased to announce the first three keynote speakers for this year’s Underwater Technology Conference (UTC). Energy is at the centre of today’s political, economic and technology debates and our first three keynote speakers span all three of these areas.
Norwegian minister of petroleum and energy Tina Bru will discuss energy demand from a political point of view – the framework for energy companies.
The Norwegian government recently presented the white paper focusing on the long-term value creation from Norwegian energy resources. In assessing the industrial potential in energy for future sustainability, profitable jobs and value creation – how can underwater technology play a role?

Tim Gould, Head of Division, World Energy Outlook and Investment, at the International Energy Agency (IEA), will help us understand the world energy balance, the role of subsea technology and the impact of Covid.
Arne Sigve Nylund, Executive Vice President, Technology, Projects and Drilling, at Equinor, will discuss energy production, in a net zero future. How can we make a difference in the energy transition; is a low-carbon footprint in the upstream industry possible?

We will have more keynotes speakers to tell you about soon, from international operators and organisations, as well as our wide-ranging and, as always, penetrating technical sessions covering: low-carbon production, resource utilization, power distribution, remote operations, digitalization, crossover/zero emission and renewables.
Join us at UTC, through June 16-17, to be at the forefront of the subsea industry in the energy transition. UTC is co-organised by the Underwater Technology Foundation (UTF) and GCE Ocean Technology, supported by the City of Bergen. To register, visit our registration page.
