Subsea Success in a Volatile World

UTC 2027 brings the global subsea community together to explore how the industry continues to deliver value in an increasingly volatile world. Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty, shifting energy markets, and rapid technological change, we shine a light on the strategies and innovations that enable subsea success—building on past achievements while preparing for what lies ahead.

Historically, subsea has been driven by the challenge of operating in deeper waters and harsher environments. Today, it also plays a critical role in navigating energy security, cost efficiency, and decarbonization—while remaining robust and adaptable in uncertain conditions.

“At a time when many external factors are beyond our control, subsea stands out as a stabilizing force,” says Kristin Høines Helgesen, Program Committee Chair, describing the theme Subsea Success in a Volatile World. “The subsea industry will need to continue to deliver secure, lower‑carbon, and competitive solutions while adapting to constant change.”

Subsea technologies continue to evolve—from extending field life and enabling incremental developments, to digitalization and smarter operations that improve efficiency and resilience. Innovation, combined with simplified delivery models and closer collaboration across the value chain, is key to success.

Whether you are a seasoned subsea professional or a newcomer eager to learn, UTC 2027 offers insight, inspiration, and connection. Join us at Grieghallen in Bergen as we come together to succeed—in a volatile world.
