TAC Challenge is a unique subsea and aerial drone competition for university student teams across the globe. The event is hosted by Tau Autonomy Center, at their venue, outside of Stavanger, Norway, from Friday, June 9th to Tuesday, June 13th. This year we have students arriving from Poland, Turkey, and India.
The students will compete in various missions, where the goal is to replicate real industry problems. The teams compete with their own drones that they have developed themselves. All of the missions are provided by sponsors and contributors to TAC Challenge. On the final day, leading industry experts from around the world will join the students to mentor and monitor their performance until the very end. This year TAC Challenge is happy to have Wintershall Dea, Strand kommune and TotalEnergies as sponsors of the event.
TAC Challenge was created to connect the best STEM students and businesses together. The goal is to increase recruitment and create awareness of the various companies in the international student environment. TAC Challenge is a unique arena for testing new ideas and recruiting new talent.
The students will be staying at Preikestolen Basecamp. They arrive during the weekend and are offered a thrilling hike to the majestic Pulpit Rock on Sunday before the competition starts on Monday morning. Besides the competition, TAC Challenge will be filled with a lot of outdoor and social activities.
