Day 2 of the UTC Conference 2023 proved to be another exhilarating day. The final day was filled with student presentations, engaging keynote presentations, inspiring parallel sessions, happy exhibitors and the student presentation award.
We started the day with two impressive student presentations. Jonathan Haglund presented on the use of nanomaterial surface treatments in subsea processing. Abdelrahman Ibrahim explored the potential of underwater snake robots for confined underwater environments.
These presentations highlighted the innovative ideas and contributions of young talents in driving advancements within the subsea industry.
Day 2 of the conference delved deeper into the energy trilemma. We had captivating sessions led by keynote speakers Mads Hjelmeland from OneSubsea, Truls Nordmann from Aker Solutions, and Asmund Maeland from ABB.
The audience was inspired by the presentations of Maiza Gulart and Suan Marcet, who showcased their latest projects on behalf of Petrobras. These engaging sessions provided attendees with a glimpse into Petrobras’ future vision, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation and their pursuit of cutting-edge technologies to optimize operations in Brazil.
Parallel sessions centered around critical topics such as subsea processing, renewable energy: hydrogen, wave and storage, leak detection and subsea HV Power. These sessions offered valuable insights and fostered in-depth discussions among industry professionals, paving the way for advancements in these key areas. The diverse range of topics and expertise showcased the industry’s commitment to tackling challenges and exploring new opportunities in a collaborative and forward-thinking manner.
The UTC Conference proved to be a success for the exhibitors. The event provided a great platform to showcase their products and services. The exhibitors’ efforts were rewarded as they reported significant sales and business leads generated during the conference.
We are thrilled to announce both Jonathan Haglund and Abdelrahman Ibrahim are the winners of the UTC Student Award 2023. Congratulations on your work, we wish you the best of luck on your exciting future ahead.
