Will the solutions we have today be enough to help lead the crossover to low carbon? Can they be adapted or do we need completely new solutions? Who will fund these, will they be economically attractive and do we have enough engineers to make all this happen?
These are some of the questions we’re likely to see tackled in our Day 2, UTC leaders’ debate; subsea solutions leading the crossover to low carbon.
But first, we’d like to introduce the final three of our top level speakers for Day 2. They are: Jon Landnes, who has global responsibility for TechnipFMC’s Subsea business, Mads Hjelmeland, managing director, Processing Systems, OneSubsea, and Per Erik Holsten, Head of Northern Europe for ABB´s Energy Industries business and Managing Director for ABB in Norway.
We think you will agree, that’s a great selection, joining our already announced top level speakers for Day 2; Director General of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) Ingrid Sølvberg, Stein Olav Drange, Vice President, Research and Technology, Facility Technology, at Equinor, and Ragnhild Katteland, EVP, Subsea & Land Systems Business Group at Nexans.
Jon Landes
Jon Landes’ comes with 25 years’ experience in the energy industry with which to tackle how we can embrace and shape the energy transition with sustainable solutions. Prior to the 2017 merger of Technip and FMC Technologies, he was General Manager, North America for FMC Technologies’ Subsea business and prior to his current role he was previously Senior Vice President for all Commercial and Front-End Engineering activities at TechnipFMC.

Mads Hjelmeland
Mads Hjelmeland is passionate about subsea processing. But it’s more than just a recovery enhancing technology to Mads. Subsea processing is central to the subsea factory concept and will play a key role in our efforts to increase energy efficiency and lower emissions. Mads will give his views on low-carbon production systems and sustainability, but also how we can have cross-over technologies into renewables – and vice versa – and how the subsea factory fits into the low-carbon perspective.
You can wet your appettite on his views here.
Per Erik Holsten
Per Erik Holsten also comes with a wealth of experience. He has more than 30 years’ in the industry, as an engineer when he first started at ABB in 1986, right through into senior and executive management roles. In his last role, he was Managing Director for Oil, Gas and Chemicals at ABB globally.

Following our Day 2 keynotes, we’ll enter the Day 2 leaders debate; subsea solutions leading the crossover to low carbon. To tackle the topic, we have two great joint moderators: Geir Egil Eie, Head of Department for Subsea and Asset Risk Management in DNV, and Fredrik Ellekjær, Partner in Rystad Energy’s consulting practice.
Geir Egil has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas Industry. He worked at Scana Industries, PTIL, Equinor and Petrad, before joining DNV.
Fredrik joined Rystad in 2013. He has extensive experience as a consultant in the energy industry, leading projects right across the value chain, but his primary focus has been on subsea and asset-heavy segments and technology adoption studies, quantifying the value of applying new technologies in the energy domain.

Both Geir Egil and Fredrik will be primed to keep our Day 2 leaders debate panelists on their toes. It will be a great debate – make sure you don’t miss out on this!
