The Next-Generation cloud and edge computing platform improves data performance availability and system integration for subsea control systems

OneSubsea is taking the next step forward in providing a fully integrated software platform that is designed to be a one-stop shop for all offshore control system needs. The platform addresses the increasing quantity of subsea data, different vendor-specific system environments, and the need for high-complexity analytics to improve field performance.

By evaluating, combining, and compressing the overall increasing field data on the seabed instead of topside with the edge computing possibilities of the platform, it is possible to fully integrate new technologies into existing and older system environments and to support an increase of the refresh rate for important process data for new field developments.

Currently, for most domains, the technologies and algorithms were developed in one specific programming language in one dedicated system architecture. The microservices architecture enables the different experts to remain in their favored and proven environments while integrating these technologies into the platform.

As a result of the cloud computing accessibility, live data from different field locations around the world come together. This provides completely new possibilities for extensive analytics, evaluations, and process improvements as well as unlimited historical data and access to large databases for comparison.

With the HTML5 technology and the standardized, open and modular object library, several operator applications such as single service, processing, and analytic stations are merged into one unified user interface.

In summary, the next-generation cloud and edge computing platform for subsea control systems is an innovative solution that provides an integrated platform with one look and feel.
