Subsea tie back will in the coming years make up a greater part of NCS development projects to utilize existing infrastructure hence operators ILX strategies and area maturity.
Some of these prospects and reserves have challenging economy and thereby will require a different development strategy to be economical and to be drained.
Equinor have investigated concepts to recover such marginal volumes, by ensuring faster execution duration and lower capex investments.
Enablers for such developments may be scope framing, standardized modular concepts, well solutions, reuse of equipment, project development model and team setup.
These hypotheses have been matured and pilot project have been initiated to test the enablers.
John Erling Nordbø holds over 20 years of experience in the marine and energy industry. Throughout his career, he has focused on projects, spanning from early phase project development to execution. His journey began by working in the contracting sector of these industries, before transitioning in consultancy. Since 2012, he has held various positions within Equinor’s project development division and today he acts as manager within the Shaping, Improvement and Analysis department.
