Clean Hydrogen to Europe

Clean Hydrogen to Europe (CHE) is Equinor’s project about decarbonizing the energy supply to Europe. The project plans to build and have a first facility at the Norwegian west coast in operation by 2030 which produces 2 GW of blue Hydrogen from natural gas. CO2 from the process will be caught and permanently stored under the North Sea. Hydrogen will be compressed and sent to Europe through either a new pipeline or a repurposed natural gas pipeline. With the expected growth in Hydrogen demand, the facilities are planned to be scaled up to 10 GW of Hydrogen by the end of the 2030’s.

The presentation will outline the overall project scope but will concentrate on and go more deeply into aspects like pipeline design, fabrication, routing, landfall solutions, installation, and operation – covering the full distance from the west coast of Norway to Europe.

Roald Sirevaag

He has extensive experience with subsea systems though all phases from early phase to operations. Presently this experience and network is used to develop new systems for energy carrier hydrogen.
