Subsea eHIPPS (Autonomous Subsea Electrical HIPPS)

Presentation of an autonomous HIPPS system with Electrical Actuation System and SIL3 certified Safety System located Subsea.

This presentation would describe a Subsea HIPPS including a gate valve with an electrical actuation system combined with a subsea located safety system setup. Presentation would cover the technical approach driven from a JIP including numerous operators and industry partners:
• Equinor providing a standard valve and overall system requirements.
• Advanced Mechatronics (GmbH) providing an electrical actuation system based on standard qualified actuator components.
• Siemens Energy AS providing pressure SIL 3 certified sensors and safety system with Logic Solver located subsea. The objective of the JIP is to qualify a complete Subsea eHIPPS setup according to API17F Version 5, and to certify the complete system according to SIL3. Presentation would cover a detailed description of the eHIPPS system architecture with the technical capabilities and operational envelope. This includes the selected components and a functional decomposition of the safety function. Experiences from project phase for each of the companies and the experiences from the joint efforts to bring this setup to TRL4 would also be covered.
