Subsea CCS - Adapting O&G technology to an emerging market

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is a rapidly growing market critical to the net zero ambitions of the international community.  Without CCS, large scale reductions in CO2 emissions from fossil-based energy production, heavy industry and chemical processing will not be possible.  Subsea CCS is particularly vital, especially in areas where offshore stores are the only viable solution for large scale CO2 storage.  To be successful now, subsea oil and gas operators and suppliers must adapt expertise and technology to a new and evolving set of CCS regulations and requirements.

TechnipFMC is working with operators, regulators and peers to bridge the gap between subsea oil and gas and subsea CCS solutions.  This presentation will highlight TechnipFMC subsea systems being developed and opportunities for system simplification and cost reduction.  It will also highlight the unique operational requirements of subsea CCS projects and their impact on both system and product design.
