Student abstracts

We welcome student abstracts for projects at Master or PhD level (including 2022 graduates) in the field of subsea technology. The student presentations will be included in the technical programme at the conference on June 15 2023.

Students can register for a complimentary conference pass including the Day 1 and Day 2 programme.

If you are a young professional under the age of 35, register for at a 50% discount for a full conference pass.

TAC Challenge

UTC has partnered with TAC Challenge – A subsea and aerial drone competition for universities all across the globe.

The contest is being held at Tau Autonomy Center 9-13 June and includes both subsea and aerial drones.

The winner will be announced in the student presentations session at UTC.

Systems Engineering (Industry Master)

What you will learn

Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary master’s degree programme which focuses on how to design and manage complex engineering systems throughout the life cycle of products. Systems engineering is the ultimate tool for the rapid translation of knowledge into competitive products and services.

The Industry Master programme is a three-year journey where you combine a 50% paid employment at our company with 50% of your time used for studies. It is expected that you continue working with us after you finish your studies. The programme consists of systems engineering subjects and elective subjects. Your master’s thesis will be linked to development projects in the company where you are employed. You will have supervisors from both industry and USN.

Apprentices

In 2023, we at Aker Solutions in Ågotnes will celebrate that we have trained apprentices for 20 years.

According to what we have found out, we have so far trained 149 apprentices to become skilled workers.

On 1 July, new and promising apprentices will once again start working with us. there are a total of 19 new ones starting. So we will be 34 apprentices in total.

Back in 2017, we moved away from the extensive training office and then took responsibility for the total training, so we are involved in the entire process of the education process from school visits, student and class visits to the company and on placement students before we start the interview process.
It is important to us that Aker Solutions is a positive contributor to the local environment and one of the ways we read this is to be visible through education

SPEAD PROGRAMME
THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR GRADUATES

SPEAD stands for Special, Professional, Experts, Accelerated, Development programme. It is a tailor-made combination of “on the job training” supplemented with dedicated technical training for a duration of 18 or 24 months (depending on the specialization) in order to equip you with the skills and competencies to excel in your future role within Wintershall Dea.

SPEAD combines practical training within the company’s domestic and international operational units with training courses dealing in-depth with technical issues.

Join ABB’s Global Early Talent Program and embark on a journey within our Finance or Information Systems functions. You will join teams on challenging international projects, while benefiting from a wide network, experienced mentors and world-class training.
