Subsea Power Hubs – Decarbonise offshore facilities by leveraging subsea field proven experience

Today, large modifications on already space constrained and congested platforms and vessels are required to realize electrification of existing O&G facilities. Combining these operations with an ongoing hydrocarbon production makes them even more critical and complex, not to mention the associated HSE aspects. These modifications and operations can be minimised by taking advantage of the mature technologies that constitute of subsea power hubs, creating cost effective solutions, simplified integration and reducing risks. This technology can be applied to power from shore applications, direct integration of renewable energy, or a combination of the two.

OneSubsea is the market leader in subsea processing and has over the years obtained a unique expertise in designing and delivering advanced subsea power distribution systems as an integral part of the delivery. Since the first subsea transformer installed in the 1990’s for a subsea boosting system, this unique competence has steadily been developed with increased ratings and impact. OneSubsea has been the frontrunner in the development and integration of key components such as transformers, connection systems, power cables and overarching monitoring and control systems in the subsea environment, building blocks which are all essential for subsea power hubs.

Our experience manifests an exceptionally high reliability of maintenance free subsea transformers, mainly due to the stable temperatures and efficient cooling. Now, subsea power hubs for electrification will leverage the expertise and experience, to achieve the next step in our industry’s decarbonization.
