Mads Hjelmeland is chief executive officer of OneSubsea, a joint venture between SLB, Aker Solutions, and Subsea7. Previously, he served as president of OneSubsea, the subsea technologies, production, and processing systems business of SLB, and prior to that, he was vice president of Processing Systems.
Mads began his career in OneSubsea in 2014, and his leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the company’s growth and success. Before joining OneSubsea, Mads gained extensive experience at Murphy Oil in Malaysia, where he served as the manager of subsea projects. In this capacity, he was responsible for development planning and the execution of EPC projects across Murphy Oil’s deepwater portfolio in Malaysia.
Mads’ career trajectory also includes his earlier roles at OneSubsea, where he held various positions across Norway, the Middle East, and Asia, all with a primary focus on subsea processing technologies, with a particular emphasis on subsea boosting and multiphase compression.
Mads earned a master’s degree in marine technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
From 2018 to 2022 Mads served as the Vice President of Processing Systems in OneSubsea, and prior to this he held several managerial positions in the company within the subsea processing domain. Prior to joining OneSubsea in 2014, Mads worked with Murphy Oil in Malaysia where he held the position as Manager of Subsea Projects, which included development planning and execution of EPC- projects across Murphy’s Malaysia deepwater portfolio. Before he joined Murphy Mads worked with OneSubsea where he held a variety of positions in Norway, the Middle East and Asia. His work scope focused on subsea processing technologies, with particular emphasis on subsea boosting and multiphase compression technologies.
